Kquery 4.0: Remote Mirc Control
Kquery 4 FAQ - Remote mIRC Control with chatroom level group features

What's mIRC control all about?

  • Use Kquery in an entirely new way...
Imagine you have a group of friends in IRC who all play the same game - wouldn't it be great if one of you could join a game and everyone else would automatically follow you. Now you can.

Using part of kquery's Peer-to-Peer service and a simple mIRC script, you and your friends can swap serverlists, setup a 'follow the leader' join-game system and more.

  • Secure and Flexible
Kquery's P2P functions have built in security - all P2P TCP/IP traffic is authenticated and mIRC remote control is secured on a per IP basis. Auto-Deny and Auto-Accept IP listings also offer easier and quicker management of who has access to your kquery instance, and can be configured from within mIRC or Kquery itself.

    Download the mIRC Script :
The file kq4mirc.mrc was pre-installed to your Kquery4 base directory with the kquery4 installer.
This script was written by Andrew Williams, James Byatt and Kris Sum.

    Installing the Script :
Save the .mrc file to your mirc directory, then within mirc type : /load -rs kq4mirc.mrc
If you already have a copy running, please unload it first so it can be updated, by typing : /unload -rs kq4mirc.mrc

    Setting up the Script :
There's little to do apart from specify an IRC chatroom that you want to use for kquery control commands. This is configured under the mIRC section of kquery's setup, as shown below :

    Using the Script :
All you need to do now is right click on a server and select an option from the context menu.

You can send commands to every user, or to everyone. If you select 'pick users', you will be presented with a dialog like :

Just select the users you want, then click OK. In IRC, you should see something like this occur :

Now on other people's computers they'll get a dialog like this :

Here they can choose to accept or deny your request, and whether they want to auto-accept/auto-deny further requests from your IP.
