Kquery 4.0: Creating Themes
Kquery 4 FAQ - Creating skins and themes

Kquery has 3 images that you can customise.
  1. The kquery header which appears at the top of kquery (no wrap, can be any size, kquery will auto-size)
This is file "template_header.psd" , and should be exported in JPG format.

  2. The background behind where all the important server info is displayed (no wrap, clipped)
This is file "template_serverinfo.psd", and should be exported in JPG format.

  3. The background behind the main server listing area (wraps + repeats)
This is file "template_background.bmp", and should be exported in BMP format.

Once you have customised your images, you will probably want to customise kquery's colour scheme to match it.
Load up kquery, and goto file->Setup->ColourScheme.

Any changes you make are reflected live wihtin kquery, so you can mess about with all the colours and see exactly what they're changing. The bottom three text area entires are for you to locate your custom graphic files.

  • The top one dubbed "Serverlist Background image" should be your template_background.bmp
  • The next one dubbed "Header Background Image" should be your template_header.jpg
  • The last one dubbed "Serverinfo Header Background Image" should be your template_serverinfo.jpg

That's about all you need to do to create your own theme. To actually make the theme installer file, you will need to email me ( email THEMES (at) KQUERY.COM ) your three images, plus you will need to go to the next screen and export your colours to a file and email me the resulting "K4T" file.

Once I have received the files, i'll compile it to an EXE file and put it on the website.
